My husband has many positive attributes, but one of his best is his uncanny ability to find local parks. For Day 26, he took me to Soundside Foundation Nature Preserve, which encompasses 55 acres right on Santa Rose Sound.
The trails wound around brackish ponds, pine forests, and a small sand beach. Definitely a lot of ecosystems within a small space!
We weren’t the only ones enjoying the park. A family was wade-fishing, and two girls were in the process of shooting their senior photos in the golden light of the setting sun. I love seeing parks like this used – it means there’s community support for future parks!
